Global warming in summary

Global warming is the rise of earth’s temperature. The rise of temperature is caused by the green house effect. Green house effect, is a layer consists of number of gases (mainly carbon dioxide and methane,) increasing earth’s temperature by raping heat in side the atmosphere.

This rise in temperature has changed earth’s properties. The main result of global warming is melting ice caps. Sea level rose as an upshot of this melting process, and as a result of this sea level rise, number of floods increased and different types of creatures suffered from those floods.

Many organizations are doing great job to eliminate global warming and many countries are taking obvious action to over come this problem. That is not enough; each and every person can contribute in fighting global warming.

GLOBAL WARMING EFFECTS

Global warming is a phrase made up from only two words, but its affects are numerous. The main effect of global warming is the increase of the average earth’s temperature. This temperature incensement is occurring due to the greenhouse effect.
The second important effect of global warming is the rise of sea level. The reason behind this rising sea level is melting ice caps because of the global average temperature increase. Also we can mention increased extreme weather. In other words the temperature in winter is becoming cooler, and summer is becoming hotter.
One of the effects recently discovered is that the increased temperature expanded the range of the tropical diseases. These were the main effects of global warming, but there are more effects scientists discovered, and there are much more effects of global warming that we didn’t realized yet.

Carbon Dioxide from Power Plants

There are many dangerous causes of global warming. I’ve chosen carbon dioxide from power plants to talk about because it taking the biggest shares in causing the glob to warm.

Power is very important in our life, almost every thing in away needs electricity to operate. This joy is not free; we are increasing earth’s temperature. Most power plants around the world use fossil fuel to generate electricity. While burning fossil fuel carbon dioxide is generated, and it increases the rate of pollution and it strengthen greenhouses layer.

The problem is that every year there are new fossil fuel plants built up. Recently, Vattenfall, a Swedish power company, plans to build coal power plant in Germany. A lot of environmental organizations asked the government to stop t his project, but there are no any positive signals from the government, just they asked the company to reduce its emissions.

What is causing global warming?

Global warming issue occurred as a result of human environmental mistreatment. As these harmful activities increased the earth’s temperature increased. Researchers and scientists discovered that this is happening, because there is a layer that consists of several gases covering earth’s atmosphere. This layer allows sun light to enter the atmosphere, but it doesn’t let it reflect back to outer space.

Although there were bad environmental activities in the past, the pollution rate was very low. The rate of pollution and emissions has jumped tremendously in the past few decades. This increase in pollution rate formed the greenhouse effect that consists of these factors, which are the main direct factors of global warming; Carbon Dioxide, Methane, Nitrous oxide, Deforestation, City Gridlock, and Carbon in Atmosphere and Ocean.

RAISING SEA LEVEL

Raising sea level is a very interesting issue to write about, because is the direct effect of raising global average temperature. As the temperature of the world increase more ice will melt from deferent parts of the world. The main areas were we can see a significant change due to global warming are our Antarctica’s.

We can see how global warming has made a lot of creatures live in danger, because they can’t live under warmer weather. As more ice melt, sea level increases. This rise in sea level causes more floods and natural disasters.

Many countries around the world are suffering from floods caused basically from global warming, but the most countries suffering are those countries below sea level. The graph shown below illustrates how sea level has increased from 1880 to 2000.

Global warming in the UAE

Global warming is a problem that affects all counties around the world. UAE has an effect in causing global warming, and on the other hand it has responsibilities to stopping this problem.

UAE is a country that has jumped from a dessert land with few thousands people living in it, to one of the most modern countries in the world with millions of people living in it, just in less than for decades. This tremendous change that happened came up with high pollution rate, because of the massive oil and gas production and the huge construction happened in the whole country.

UAE government had a lot of environmental awards because it saved wild life and increased green areas on a “dead land.” UAE has the biggest power research center in the world to find alternative efficient energy to reduce fossil fuel consumption. Also, UAE has built the first solar power station as a step to reduce pollution and as a result reduce global warming.

Fighting Global Warming Individually

As an individual caused and affected by global warming, I have to share the responsibility of stopping global warming. I should not wait for governments to take actions, because there a lot of effective things that if each individual does, global warming will decrease.

Transportation and power generation are the main sources of global warming. As an individual, I can reduce my usage of transportation and electricity. When I want to buy a car I choose cars that consume small amount of fuel, and when I drive my car I don’t drive very fast to reduce my car’s fuel usage.

In my daily activities, I can go to places less than 1KM in distances by wake. I can reduce my house electricity consumption, by switching of lights when I can see without them or when I’m not at home. I can reduce my AC usage in winter.
